This year’s Senior Care Summit: Aging Forward was nothing short of a resounding success. Thanks to the overwhelming support of our sponsors, partners, and attendees, the event sold out well in advance, with a waitlist of professionals eager to take part. It was inspiring to see such a strong turnout of individuals from across the senior care industry including attorneys, healthcare professionals, case managers, social workers, and community advocates all united by a shared mission: to better serve older adults and their families.
The Summit was designed to be more than just another conference, but an opportunity to bring together the brightest minds and most compassionate hearts in our field to exchange knowledge, learn about the latest developments, and collaborate on solutions to pressing issues in elder care. Judging by the feedback we received, that goal was more than achieved.
One attendee wrote, “I have been to many continuing education programs over the years, and this was one of the best I've ever attended. The program was well-planned, organized and executed. Excellent subject matter, great presentations!”
The program lineup was both diverse and dynamic. The day began with keynote speaker Cora Steinmetz, diving into Medicaid policy updates and changes and the future of aging in Indiana. Dr. Colleen Morley led a session on the challenges of discharge planning, followed by impactful QuickTalks from Sherrie Waugh (The Brain Center), Jamie Johnson (Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana), and Attorney Christine Stolle and Edna Rauch (Dillman & Owen Estate and Elder Law). Afternoon sessions covered essential legal and healthcare topics, including Attorney Bradley Owen and Dr. April Krowel on assessing legal capacity, and Attorney Lisa Dillman on Medicaid eligibility. The day concluded with a thought-provoking panel featuring Drs. Dianne & Pat Healey, Emily Tisdale, Lisa Reed, and Jim McIntosh, who explored how Indiana can continue building strong systems of support for its aging population.
Each session was designed to provide both practical tools and big-picture perspective. The speakers brought not only expertise but also a genuine passion for improving the lives of aging adults. Many attendees remarked that they left feeling better equipped to support their clients and communities.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors. Their commitment to education, collaboration, and community service helped make this Summit a reality. Thank you to Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana, Joy’s House, CICOA, SHIP, Partners in Aging, Careforth, and CarePatrol. We are deeply grateful for their partnership and investment in making the day such a success.
Equally important were the attendees themselves. The packed house, and even the waitlist of those who couldn’t get in this year, demonstrated how deeply professionals in our field care about continuing education and growing together. The conversations in the hallways, over coffee, and at networking breaks were just as valuable as the presentations themselves, sparking new connections and potential collaborations that will no doubt extend far beyond the event.
As we reflect on the 2025 Senior Care Summit, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for the future. The enthusiasm and dedication we witnessed reaffirm that, together, we can continue to innovate, advocate, and build a stronger support system for seniors and their families.
Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, or cheered us on this year. We can’t wait to see you at the next Senior Care Summit!
