Maria E. Sanchez Delucca (Maru) is a litigation associate at Dillman & Owen Estate and Elder Law, where she represents clients in real estate and elder law disputes across Indiana. Her practice focuses on advocating for individuals and businesses in complex litigation matters, including property disputes, guardianship conflicts, estate administration issues, and fiduciary duty claims. Maru handles all phases of litigation—from initial case assessment and discovery through motion practice, mediation, and court proceedings.
In addition to her litigation work, Maru advises clients on compliance matters, including internal policies, investigations, and risk management strategies.
Prior to joining Dillman & Owen, Maru practiced at a national labor and employment law firm, where she defended employers in state and federal courts against claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. She also represented clients before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC), and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
Maru earned her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and is admitted to practice in Indiana, including the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts. She also holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Universidad Arturo Michelena in Venezuela. Before entering the legal profession, Maru worked as a mental health therapist, serving families and communities throughout Indiana.
She remains active in the legal community, having served as a guest speaker for Emprendedoras Latinas en Indiana and held leadership roles with the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association during law school. Maru is a native Spanish speaker, bringing valuable bilingual skills to her professional work.
Outside of work, Maru enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and staying active.
